Combine all of the above and what have you got?
Answer: A fully functional 'one stop motorhome service centre in Scotland' Workshop in Scotland catering for all your needs and we at The Motorhome & Caravan Workshop are proud to say that we are Scotland's first ''Independent'' NCC Approved
We do not have a Dealership, we are a small family owned company and we warmly welcome you to our workshop facility in Carstairs, Scotland.
Questions you may ask?
Are we Fiat Professional Approved?
Answer: No. This is something that we are currently dealing with however as there are many of you who may not know this - we really do not need to be Fiat Approved or any other manufacturer approved. We need to be competent and qualified;
There was a Government legislation passed in 2003 called "Block Exemption" (BER) and this means that an ''Independent'' garage can carry out your motorhome service, so to ensure that the warranty is still protected.This means that you NO LONGER need to use your main Dealer to carry out your service.
ALL GENUINE motorhome parts of OEM (Original Equipment Make) are used as standard procedure, protecting your warranty at all times. Dealers may try and steer you away from using smaller independent workshops as they do not want to loose you as a customer. In the real world, outside the big box, Independent workshops will in most cases be cheaper than what a main dealer charges for work.
In most cases, main dealers and independent workshops will use the same parts suppliers.
Any misleading comments by a main dealer trying to keep you into staying with them are not correct!
STOP getting ripped off by main dealers telling you what you can and cant do;
Because you can do what you want - as long as the workshop is fit and competent and qualified to carry out the work.
All parts used are GENUINE approved parts of OEM standard.
YOUR WARRANTY IS ALWAYS PROTECTED WHEN USING THE MOTORHOME & CARAVAN WORKSHOP
Authorised repairers: A repair shop within a manufacturer's network. Under the new BER any repair shop (including independent garage or franchised dealer of another network) that meets the quality standards set by a manufacturer can become authorised repairers within that manufacturer's network, without being obliged to sell new motorhomes.
Dealer-based extended warranty: Extensions offered to the manufacturer's warranty at no extra charge. Terms and conditions may be different to the manufacturer's warranty, where these restrict servicing to the manufacturer's franchised dealer for the extension to remain valid this is often applied to the whole warranty period (manufacturer's and dealer-based extension). Typically they apply only within the UK.
Franchised dealer: A business in the manufacturer's network that through a franchise agreement is allowed to sell that particular brand of motorhome . Historically franchised dealers could both sell new motorhomes/caravans and provide aftersales repair and servicing. The new BER separates these functions and sets up a separate category of authorised repairer (see above). We use the term franchised dealer to cover all those garages in a manufacturer's network that are authorised to service motorhomes. This term is a more familiar one than authorised repairer, nearly all franchised dealers still service motorhomes and only a few independent garages have achieved authorised repairer status.
Independent garage: any garage that is not a franchised dealer for the make of motorhome to be serviced.
Manufacturer's basic warranty: The warranty provider by the manufacturer with a new motorhome. Typically they cover component failure for one to three years. Terms and conditions vary between manufacturers.
